Rehmonnya Institute for Civic Engagement (RICE) is an orgsnization dedicated to empowering Mon communities through education, leadership development, research, and capacity-building programs. It aims to develop knowledgeable and responsible individuals who can contribute to community and social development.
Vission: to build an informed, active, and responsible generation of young leaders.
Mission:
- Promote civic and political education.
- Strengthen leadership and criticla thinking skills.
- Encourage democratic values and active citizenship.
- Develop youth capacity for commuity engagement.
The institute serves Mon youth, students, community leaders, and individuals who are interested in developing their skills, knowlwdge, and leadership abilities.
It offers main programs such as:
- Political Concepts Training (PCT)
- Civic Education Programs
- Leadership Development Workshops
- Public Discussions ans Seminars
- Research and Capacity Building
Note: most programs are taught by senior politicians and researchers, so just grab the offered opportunities.
The PCT program teaches political history, political ideologies, democracy, governance, and civic participation. This program obviously increases political awareness, develops critical thinking skill, and encourages responsible citizenship.
In Civic Education Programs, participants learn about rights, responsibilities, democratic values and community participation. Regarding this, youth gain knowledge about understanding of citizenship, community engagement, and responsible development and informed citizens.
On the other hand, Leadership and Capacity-Building Workshops focus on communication, public speaking, teamwork, and project management. Youth can improve leadership and communication skills, build confidence, and prepare youth professional and community roles.
Then, participants conduct research on social and political issues and participate in discussions and sseminars in Research and Educational Activities.
Everyone, especially youth, can participate in the institute’s programs when training course, workshops, research projests, and educational opportunities are available. Participants are encouraged to follow the institute’s announcements for updates.
The organization also provides internet cost for attendents, so it is really effective for people who want to learn politics in a short period. Usually, it conducts research in Mon Region, participants will gain the awareness about the strugle of Mon communities in every angel.
